Q: what's the laws on gas and electric scooters in Dalian

In Beijing ,If you don't have number plates, no fuel, yet I saw hundreds of locals without plates

I paid an extra 2000 Yuan for number plates on my scooter and never got stopped.

I actually had a policeman walk up to me and a local guy next to me at a traffic light, he looked at my plates, then looked at the local guy with no plates, made him get off the bike and confiscated it

I was told that in Dalian, you can't get number plates for gas scooters, but Electric is ok. plates not needed

Anybody know?

I don't think any place license electric scooter.

i also don't understand why they don't steal  more electric scooters, no license plate, i don't have papers  but the sales receipt for mine. All you have to do is change the switch or take the tumblers out. locks can be cut in seconds.

In the Dalian city center, they do not allow any motorized/non-motorized bikes.  Outside the downtown area they are allowed, but I have only seen moto-taxis.  I honestly don't recall seeing a scooter of any type in Dalian.  Even bikes were very rare.

Hi John, Thanks

I live in Lushun District, there are hundreds of gas and electric bikes

My girlfriends friend is a policeman, He says cannot get plates for gas, but electric is ok, I see plates and I don't see plates on the gas ones. She said the police stop the ones with no plates and ticket them everyday

That sounds like a crock to me, Yet I really want one, We'll have to see, It probably takes a little cash to get the plate

Ah.  I lived in the Zhongshan district near the Shangrila hotel.  I guess the rules are different there.

I've had bigger motorcycles since I was 17. I love my electric scooter, fast enough for in town and can drive what I need in a day even if I go sight seeing. i love that I don't need gas cause it aint like home with gas station on every corner.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
