Q: Whats the longest stretch you've spent in China
What's the longest any1 has been here without going home? I'm at 4 years but im guessing thats nothing compared to some people.
8 months so far and still counting......it will end in July
A little over 5 years for me. I am back in the US temporarily right now. I forgot just how different it is.

It is very strange coming back. It almost feels like going to a ghost town. I am used to seeing tons of people everywhere. And here I can take long walks and only see a few other people who aren't in cars.
Then, there is the sky. It is actually blue here. I don't ever remember seeing a blue sky in China. But for me, the most noticeable thing is the quiet. It is amazing how quiet it is here. That took getting used to.
I was here for a year and half before I went back to the States for 1 month. I'm figuring on another year and a half before I venture back home. So, I guess you could say, in the meantime, I'm "Chinaized."
Wow, I don't know how you guys can do stretches of more than a year.
I've been here less than one year and I'm going absolutely mental.
I'll be here for about 10 months by the time I leave. Only 2 weeks left to go, and I don't think I'm coming back.

Hi, My name is bike-gypsy, and its been 478 days without a sip of civilization...
My longest run was 3 years in a row. But after that, I would go back home for a week or two every year. And I feel so awkward there...
Last year in 6 months in China my longest stretch was only 50 days as I went home and back often.
This year I already did 5 months straight but am back home now until my next deployment.
I don't know what would become of me if I did 4 straight years...I don't even want to think about it.
its been 2 years i am here and i have to spend 3 more years here and after tht i will think about going home , for me there is no going home for next 3 years , pity me
