Q: What's up with the Nov. 11 "Singles Day"?

Can anyone bring me up to speed on that?

Well apparently the single 'ones' in the date, 11/11 represent disconjoined individuals. To me that doesn't represent singles very well, just couples on their way to a bar; maybe a movie too, followed by a late supper, a night-cap and the very real possibility of coitous. Makes me regret getting married. I actually got married on the 10th of October (10/10), which is a pretty accurate representation of our union. I'm tall and slim from the constant worry of raising a child and not going out beering every night anymore, and after having a child herself, my wife now looks like a rather large throw pillow.
