Q: What's a suitable wedding gift for my foreign parents to give to Chinese husband's parents?
I heard it's tradition for the parents of the bride and groom to give each other presents as a symbol of becoming one family. But what on earth can my parents give them? His parents don't drink or smoke. The mother is not big into make-up or fashion and already has lots of facial and hand creams which i gave her in the past. The father is into calligraphy and watching the news which doesn't help much in buying a present from the West. Any ideas?

handmade items moccasins
hot water cooker from midea , 5 liter size for tea in the living room, gets rid of the thermos

Thanks. Vitamins and honey are definitely good. My parents already have those items on their shopping list. I'm just afaid that those 2 will be too little. You know how Chinese are about gifts: the bigger and more expensive, the better. Of course they never let on that attitude to your face. It's only once you've turned your back that the bitching begins.

I have a trick when giving gifts after getting back from my country, just get things that look expensive or have a packaging that looks expensive, preferably somethingthat they can show around. If you take a large box with golden or velvet coloured wrapping paperand posh design, it won't really matter what is inside, as long as it is foreign, they won't ask to see how much it cost

Native American art is made in China. When I buy Canadian souvenirs, it kills me that I have to cut off the "Made in China" tags

Native American art has roots in Asia, and China also. It would just look like Yunnan or Mongolian stuff
