According to the post on Wikipedia Shenzhen's climate is sub-tropical. The rainy season last until mid October and winters are mild. It is situated near the tropic of cancer, so it is probably a bit like Townsville in Australia.
Here is what they said:
Climate

Shenzhen is situated in the subtropical part of China, located at about the Tropic of Cancer, yet due to the Siberian anticyclone, has a warm, monsoon-influenced, humid subtropical climate (Köppen Cwa). Winters are mild and relatively dry, due in part to the influence of the South China Sea, and frost is very rare. Spring begins somewhat dry, but rainfall begins to dramatically increase in April, and the rainy season lasts until early to mid October. The monsoon reaches its peak intensity in the summer months, when the city also experiences very humid, and hot, but moderated, conditions. The region is prone to torrential rain as well, with 10 days that have 50 millimetres (1.97 in) or more of rain. The latter portion of fall is dry. The annual precipitation averages at over 1,900 millimetres (75 in), some of which is delivered in typhoons that strike from the east during summer and early fall.

It's summer in Senzhen in October.

You can wear a single T-shirt and won't feel cold.

In fact, you feel hot for most days of Oct.

In Oct. Shenzhen, the temperature varies from 25 to 30 degrees centegrade.

The temp in Shenzhen is warm and feels almost tropical in October. They have beautiful beaches there so you should have clear skies, warm temperatures and cool breezes throughout the October season.

You should come here to SZ in late July instead...it's beautiful.

It rains almost everyday and the average is about 36c and with the humidex sometimes tops out at 50c...good times.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
