Q: What's with those guys holding fist-fulls of cash around Shanghai?

Whenever I walk around the Shanghai Indoor Stadium/IKEA area of Shanghai, I always see guys holding a fist-fulls of 100rmb notes. What's that all about?

I have no idea what those around Shanghai Indoor Stadium will be doing walking around with fist fulls of 100 Rmb notes. But in some countries that I have visited, similar fellows were seeking to exchange the money they hold for foreign currency. Totally illegal to do so, by the way.

A word of caution, many of those fellows are experienced coon artists, and either feed you counterfeit money, or somehow short change you. I do all my currency exchange at official banks.
