Q: What's up with this website now?

Is it just me or does it seem to be getting extremely political and mundane?

The site seemed to be more interactive on a personable level which made it interesting in my opinion. Now there seems to be a ton of political questions and such that is more international that just about China. Or if the questions are about China they seem like mundane questions that really doesn't matter if someone answers or not...  more like opinion polls on current events.

Is anyone else getting kind of bored with that? Is this just one group of people or something?

Meh.

winkWell, we've got a moron spewing crap about westerners, then we had the missing plane thing, we had the Ukraine issue which drew lots of opinions and to top it off, we had CFTU coming in......rather eventful week here I'd say. Oh, and we had an Indian sharma! Things are getting livelier here it appears.

And on top of that the Dow Jones lost 239 on fears of China's slowdown gig.

I think all the weirdness is putting people off asking normal Qs. I'm certainly thinking twice... OK, I'll ask a sorta normal one: I'd certainly love to know if VPN would help me log in to my Dutch PayPal account safely (because logging in normally from China will invoke account restrictions and ID testing again). I hope nobody accuses me of being a wumao for asking this...

Scandinavian:

It would, but you need your VPN server to be in Holland, then it is just as good as being there, without easy access to Gouda

Make sure to get L2TP and not just PPTP

right...just make sure to find one with a Dutch server, i don't know any offhand but i'm sure they exist if you look around. I use my USA one to get on all my regionally restricted websites.

You can ask some of your family or friends to turn on TeamViewer or LogMeOn. This software enables you to enter their computer, and surf the net like you are in Holland. A little slow on showing graphics but you can use it for your purpose.

don't worry to much, as it is just part of a cycle , things still to come is the witch burning and the return of Matty in a few weeks . ( yes you can set your watch by him/her/it)

you are not saying anything that people are not all ready thinking  . however you are opening yourself up to attack from some factions as am i and the others  for replying to this question .

I was pretty active on this site for a long time as were a couple of others , but now I just could not be bothered as much any more and I also find myself feeling more anti China the more I read some of the anti foreign things on here.

so now instead of spending to much time here and getting the shits , I use it to play world of tanks (not really )

wonder if they will build a public square battle field crying

It has been but I think it was just one group of bad accounts all posting stuff pushing the same agenda. The admin blocked a bunch of the offending accounts so hopefully it'll be back to normal.

Ya, that week with all those guys who are now blocked was rough. It was like they paid no attention to what was going on in the world and tried to 'shout' louder than anyone else to drown out the news about Kunming etc. It was kind of annoying actually.

Now it should be ok for a while. But as Phil says, they'll be back. I just wish they'd leave us alone. I don't think we're harming anyone??!!

A:I'll give my two cents on the age part. It's not as easy but can definitely be done. I was 21, fresh out of university and landed my first teaching job in china as a homeroom kindergarten teacher on a pretty standard 20,000/month salary. I'm 1 year in now and am still happy. Pretty much all international kindergarten jobs on here want 2 years experience, but many will still accept if you have experience in your home country. With that being said, being white and having a nice looking face is much more of a decision factor in china vs the west, if you can- use it to your advantage. Good luck finding something! -- brinsleym
