I bought what I thought was a pack of mint gum the other day (it had a green label) and was surprised to find that it was actually "jasmine" flavored and tasted absolutely horrible. Instead of making my breath fresh, it left this bitter tea aftertaste that lingered for several hours.
What's the weirdest or most disgusting gum flavor you've tried in China?
It's not so much the flavor as the texture after a few bites and chews. Goes jelly-like and slimy. Have to spit it out after a few chews. (I aim for the rubbish bin.) I stick to (no pun intended) hard, fruit-flavored penny candy by Oishi: 3.5 kuai for a bag of lemon or orange or green apple or lychee or grape. But I'm off topic here.
Anyway... I would really like to try black pepper-flavored gum to wean myself off Nicorette. Seriously. Has anyone seen that anywhere in China?
Coffee, not impressed.
Red_Fox:
Yeah, I had the coffee gum, thinking it was the next best thing to black pepper gum (Nicorette tastes like black pepper) and since I'm looking for a Nicorette substitute, I can't beat that association: coffee and ciggies. Shit. I'm f*cked.
Mine was the taste of same fragrances use in mosquito spray.
