Q: What's your favorite Chinese dish?
I am gonna cook TWO(one's non- spicy &one's spicy) of the below dishes as there's a Christmas party will be held next week, everyone needs to bring some food to come.
Please pick at least two of your favorite dishes as following.
1.Braised pork in Chairman Mao style (non-spicy)
2.Stir-fried beef with red chilli (Spicy)
3.Potato slices with black Vinegar(Spicy)
4.Egg cake(Non-spicy)
BTW,we are in Australia and all guests are westerners except Myself.
Happy Christmas to everyone in advance.
Thanks.
For me it doesn't get better than this

It's usually prepared so bones is not an issue. Is it a Sichuan dish, the name of the dish escapes me right now.

@martian: You got me laffin', bro. Exactly my reaction when I saw what looked like ET at his funeral (check out the head) with Alien shit springing from his chest and shit. I wouldn't touch that dish in a million years no matter how good it tastes, coz it sure looks creepy!
In your list, I'd go with the egg cake. If you manage to make it without the "fresh" eggy taste.
Go for number three.
Definitely don't go for number one....the thick fat will make people gag.
Hey Maggie! I love crispy-skin chicken with the, what is it, gooseberry sauce on the side? I know it isn't on your menu, but that is my favorite Chinese dish.
Back home, I never ever eat chicken skin, even off buffalo wings. Just don't enjoy the texture. However, this crispy-skin chicken dish is amazing and the skin is better than the meat.
Now to your post: I vote for dishes 2 and 3. And what time is dinner?
Cheers and Merry Christmas!

I know that dish,It's delicious especially the skin like you said.
Thanks for the Vote.
Dinner will be on Wednesday next week.Wanna join us?LOL
Fried "fen si" with... well, I never knew what he made it with. Vegetables and stuff.
But that guy that was selling them in that stand on the left of the elevator on the -1 floor of that Chinese supermarket around Daxuelu sure made the best glass noodles ever. You know the place.
I like condiment dishes, for pickles and soy sauce. An excellent creation, especially when made using the finest bone china.
A really well done Gongbao Chicken is my comfort food but out the four you chose I reckon you should do the beef and the Mao style dish. Hope it goes well.
Hmmmm, I wouldn't go with the vinegar dish. I'd definitely go with the beef dish.
My favourite food in China was Uyghur style lamb kebabs and naan.... not exactly stereotypically Chinese and not very healthy! I also really loved the eggplant and green capsicum dish that you get everywhere (can't remember the Chinese name, sorry...)
Soya chicken has been my first choice, followed by the soup - ginger chicken soup my wife makes.
too many to chose from. I like the more simple dishes. Easy and quick to prepare, but i don't know their names
i am a regular at my local Muslim restaurant :
