Q: What's your landlord/lady like?

Mine is awesome, any problem and he's right there to see it sorted. We don't understand a word each other says but huge amounts of natural TPR, laughter and backslapping gets things done. He thinks it's amazing (I've found through a helpful translator) that people would travel so far, so young (I'm 29, take the compliment) to visit/live in China. What are your experiences?

The landlord is pretty cool. A really down to earth nice kind of person. I've had other landlords before that were awful but this new guy is really a good person. Not to mention he works for the government.

She is about 50, 165 cm, and either divorced or widowed. She is a very handy plumber and electrician. Talks very fast and laughs a lot, though she has a temper that is terrible to behold if you are late with the rent (I ALWAYS pay on time!). She also hates drunks who try to nap  behind the stairs and will haul them away non too gentlly.

Mine also is cool! She was away in Canada for some study for a few months, so her husband was the guy to go to for problems (which I had), and he did his best to get them sorted fairly pronto. They invited me over for dinner a while back Smile Probably also helps that I'm living in a complex containing mostly teachers or students (or relatives of...).

My landlord and his wife live directly upstairs from me. No problems except I have to endure their constant fights and the occasional beating of their child around 5am. My school paid my rent for the year in advance so I rarely see them other than two weeks ago when they came to my place to have a look at the bathroom. (My apt is less than 2 years old so there's no problems anywhere....yet)

Anyways.....
They took the toilet seat and have yet to replace it. I have no further comment on that.   ??

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
