Job, at least for me.

U can get all type of Chinese food in any city, u can get all type of food in major cities.
U meet all kinds of Chinese no matter which city u stay.
U r not home, so the city will always be an unfamiliar place.

For me it's definitely access to great culture, nightlife, entertainment and facilities. As an 18 year old, staying in a backward third-tier city may have been an adventure, but now I just want to start living a more comfortable life and have easy access to the things I like and interest me. I need to be able to drink good coffee, buy cheese from time to time, dance to good music at a club and maybe visit a few art galleries and cafes. Since living in Shanghai and Beijing, there's just no going back. Also, one has to factor in prximity to embassies and well connected international airports. Don't want to have to change flights 2-3 times just to get to the city I live.

I'd say, Chinese will choose and look especially for a native English speaker at teaching of English Literature job openings.
