If you change Provinces, you might be required for new MExam. I was!

Otherwise, ME is valid 6-months and after that you must repeat. Teachers just waste time at ME.

It isn't big deal to make new one. Lab with blood&urine exam, size  (like I was getting any taller, while switching the cities), sight, and few other things (blood pressure).

It takes longer than 4-5 hours for all this.

...I heard that some people got sick after the medical exam here in Baoding...

and I remember it was a very hard discussion to convince my doctor in Germany to give me the stupid unhealthy x-ray without any indication for tuberculosis. She said since I was in my whole life not even in a country where tuberculosis occurs it's basically impossible that I could have contracted it and she would have given me a certificate without x-ray if I didn't needed to provide the pic too.

And then I hear from coworkers that they not only take one picture like in a German hospital - no! they take live videos including of the medical personnel themselves and our translators... How can I trust these people to use clean needles when taking my blood samples..?

If I have any chance to avoid the risk and cost of the health check I want to use it..angel

Just take it easy! I do!

Cost is around 4 -500 Rmb, my Schools always pay, but the last one I had to pay for refund later. They weren't sure, if I'll pass and I was thinking 'will I survive...'

I hate going to the Hospitals and MDs.

Health exam. No you need a new one.

Education certification? Not really sure what you're referring to. If you mean your own education certificates then you should never have handed over the originals anyway! They should have been copied and the originals given back to you. They are yours!

joerg81:

To me it sounds like my new employer asks for a certification from the Chinese embassy that either my educational certificates are correct (not photoshopped/chinesed...) or that they meet some - not further specified - requirements...!?

The originals of my former employer's references I already lost with the stupid HR of the last employer. NEVER give any originals anymore!!! Mistakes are very likely and the following lying inevitable.

Ah, I think I partly understand. Some provinces/cities now require your bachelors or masters degree certificate to be notarized to say it's real. I think this has been discussed before. Search the questions, you might find what you need.

When did you get your last medical done? As Icnif said, it should be valid for 6 months.

And, yeah, it shouldn't be a PITA - sounds like it was just your employer being narky!

You will (probably) need to have all your university degrees notorised as true and accurate. This will probably be a PITA - cos you may need some department back home to authenticate, and then have the Chinese embassy/consulate notorise the authentication. Same with the criminal history check (that's why it's good to get a few copies). If they stamp on your degree, then it may be a good idea to request a new degree from your university, stating that the original was 'damaged'.

PSB et al tend not to give documents back - so use copies for everything where possible.

Remember to take photos of everything you've got!!! (just in case!)

The above is for 'richer' provinces, who have a greater intake of teachers at higher levels. If you're in a lower tier city, perhaps this can be by-passed (cos they're more desperate). Ask the school...

the medical was done in May so it may be okay laugh

Does the non-criminal record expire too?

So to in order to try to get them back I should head for the PSB?

icnif77:

My Non-crim cert. from 2013 was still good this year. I am not sure, if Non-crim. is required in every Province or even if it's required by Gov. It's maybe only School's requirement.

I don't know, how you can get back your originals. I usually ask the person I gave it to (ME, only!), but if I couldn't get it back, I'd ask SAFEA for help, same as last salary or anything else considering my job.

Ummm - of course! Just because you didn't get caught for all your crimes in the last few years, doesn't mean they won't finally catch up to you now....

@Shining: It shady, isn't it? I was guessing at job change, I might need to get new/last one, but 'not necessary'.

I even asked at my Embassy about it, and they said, they would be able to issue new one in short time.

In October the employment permit process will change starting with some selected provinces first:

Hotwater:

And from next April all provinces. I'm hoping we'll get feedback on here over the next couple of months from people who go through the new system

You can do it, though they may use the paper shredder.
