Q: When do mosquitos actually die in this country?!!

It is mid-October and people are already starting to dig out their winter clothes here in Beijing. How is it then that I am STILL being tormented by mosquitos in my bedroom at night??? Last night I woke up in the middle of the night after my cheek felt itchy. The little f***er managed to find the only exposed part of skin and bit it. Now I have a hive on my face and all I want is for it to die....now! I have no mercy for these bloodsuckers.

You need to invest in a mosquito net / tent, and one of those electric tennis racquets. I love the sound they make when they pop.

I had an encounter with one of those little buggers in April, then silence, and now the last week they are back. Multiple bites. Of course here it is still 25-30 degrees. Maybe it is starting to get cold enough for the bastards.

The tennis raquet suggested by marTIan doesn't really solve the problem if they are many, but it does give the feeling of revenge (in China it's a dish best served really hot as eating cold stuff is bad)

Just killed 20 flies, three mosquitoes and one of the bathroom moths in the span of one hour! Why can't landlords get the concept of putting screens on the windows? The electric Raid mosquito repellents (with the small bottle of liquid) does wonders.

Vyborg:

I've had my flyscreens replaced last spring, cost me 300 yuan for 5 windows including placing them. Have given me a thousand's worth of peace during the summer. I haven't even discussed it with the landlord, just done it and paid for it myself.

It seems autumn is late this year in more than one respect. The trees in Liaoning are still green, most of them, and two years ago I've been admiring the autumn colors in the October holiday

It is amazing that the Chinese authorities in city's like Beijing have no mosquito abatement programs like they have in Florida. Florida mosquitoes are like birds. When I first came to China eleven years ago. I got bitten to death with mosquito bites, I still have the scars on my belly from them even eleven years later. They are little buggers but they have a big bite. I saw little kids running around with big welts all over their legs. I guess the mosquitoes go along with the rats running around in supermarkets?
