Q: When does spring normally start in Beijing?

It is really warm out today: 61 degrees F according to my phone. But it is still February. What gives? I am assuming that today is a red herring, but I'd like to know (since this is my first year here) when spring usually starts in Beijing. Thanks

Hard to say exactly. I remember last year it snowed in the middle of March.
Generally it warms up in April...May is perfect weather and then the brutality starts in June when summer arrives.

Well if sandstorms can be considered the start of spring here, I guess that's today.

I cannot comment on Beijing but Nanning is 28C today (82F) so I think Spring has started down here.

The official (i.e. according to Astronomy) start is 15th March (Spring Equinox), however in Nanning for the past two years it's really been mid April, but I'm told just after Spring Festival is normal.
