I'm in a small city called Lishui, 5-6 hours west of Shanghai. It's still really hot. Does anybody know when it starts to cool down? I hate wearing shorts.
Why do you hate wearing shorts? The weather should in general start to get cooler as it is entering autumn. But hey you know that right you just needed some points. Which apart from being curious about you shorts phobia is the same reason I gave you an answer.

If I cared about points, I'd answer every question I read. However, I'll get bored with this site long before I will earn enough points to buy anything. I was being serious with my question. My home is further north than this. It's probably starting to get cooler, the leaves might even be changing color there already. It's obvious that it will get cooler eventually, but a less vague time frame would be nice.
You will probably find that it will start to get cooler towards the end of September. The autumn Tiger tries to stay, but by mid October you will probably wish it was a bit warmer. I live near Hangzhou and have been here for four years. December last year, we had snow and ice, by April next year it should get warmer. I put a link here for you to look at the weather forecast for your City

Thank you for the weather forecast, but it still looks like hot weather to me. I'm used to snow, it snows a lot throughout the winter back home. I can't wait for pants weather and the day when all the mosquitoes die off.
Most part of northern China (north of Yangtze River) has entered Fall season. Starting tomorrow (Sept. 15), a strong cold front will swipe from north-west to south-east of China and a temperature drop of 4-8 degrees is expected. Prepare yourself with a pair of long pants.
Jnusb416:
A pair of long pants? That's funny. I prefer 40-60 degrees Fahrenheit. Thanks for the heads up, maybe it will be a little more bearable here.
You still didn't tell me why you hate shorts.
Jnusb416:
Because of the damn mosquitoes, ok? I have a ton of bites on my legs. I also hate hot weather. Winter is my favorite season.
I care about points:
Q: When is summer weather over?
A: When it gets colder.
I'm happy to help.

It depends on where you are. In Beijing, maybe the temperature is below 25 degrees now. So people there no longer feel hot. However, in Guangdong, the temperature is still 29 degrees indoors and over 30 outdoors. So the summer ends in August in north China and ends in Oct. or Nov. in south China. In other word, Autumn begins in Aug. in north and spreads gradually to the south.
it's relatively freezing in Beijing for early Autumn these past few days, so summer weather is officially over here, it should be fast approaching too where you are.
They say mid-October it gets cooler. Hopefully during national Day holidays the weather will stay warm during the day. Snow falls expected here by the end of October.
So you like cold weather? Would you like a job in Daqing? Minus 35 will provide a good, cold fix for you. However, due to the place being in the middle of wetlands, the mosquito season is a bummer.
zeng: which year has the weather been normal ????? and tell me who was the "first emperor"
I think now seems to be the only two seasons, summer and winter
sophiemars:
