15 mins ago. Country life has its perks. Could see 3 at one point. Some months ago I was privileged to be allowed to a water reservoir in a forest outside of town. No artificial lights, just the moon and the stars, plenty of them, almost as good as on a frosty winter night in northern europe. 

In China, the stars are not allowed to shine, they spy on China. Every night i see stars lately, Canada. When the moon is out you can almost read by the light reflected off the snow, it's a silver light. On moon-less nights sometimes I can see the aurora borealis/ northern lights faintly and there are so many stars. When I go to Manitoba in the summer, I often see norther lights in colours and the sun never sets, it is going down and coming up at the same time, the horizons are all lit.

Stars?  Heck, in 6 years I think I can count the number of times I saw the sun on one hand.

Yep, just like Scandi...gotta move out of the big city to catch a glimpse of the stars, but even then, it's just a few.  On our recent trip to the Philippines, my Chinese gf actually had a "moment" on that first clear night.  She had never witnessed the Milky Way before then.  Kinda sad she was deprived of that her whole life.

Last night - not bad for Hangzhou! (but it's been rather windy the last day or 2, and I live a little further out of town)

Tonight. I have just walked back home and saw, wait for it, eight stars. I told my wife about seeing the Milky way on a clear night where you see thousands. Not sure if she believed me, but eight in one go was a lot for us in one night.

During the night? Never. In the day? Whenever I look in a mirror.
