Q: Where is the best place to go fishing in China?
I like to go fishing. I fished in Hunan. That was good.
I go fishing in Guangdong. That is so so. Too hot. Catch too many red carrier bags.
What is the best place to go fishing in China?
The overstocked fountains in city parks.
Sometimes they are in shopping centers.

I can't give you any direction about where to go, but I can tell you where to stay away from. There is a huge "Chinese" lake just southwest of Hong Kong. DO NOT GO THERE! It may seem like a good idea, but going there (unless you are Chinese) is nothing but trouble, believe me.

I thought that lake was fished out anyway. Nothing but jelly fish left.
The wife's hometown is on the coast of that lake. No fish to be caught there.

I think, from a very green kind of guy, that the biggest lake is the best and possibly the most fun and informative.. If you get there, pretty sure you could have a fish for dinner, or a sheeps head or a donkeys dong, whatever you like. Plus you could throw a tip into the conservation for the desertification project.
QINGHAI LAKE
Not sure, but I would like to know some places as well. I have tried to find a website that shows a species list for China, but was unsuccessful. I have fished for snakehead in Kanchanaburi in Thailand, and that was a lot of fun. I didn't' catch any, but the setting was spectacular. I imagine some of the isolated rivers up in the mountains would hold some sort of fish life?
Chinese fishermen swear by the less-depleted fishing grounds around the Senkaku and Spratly Islands. If you really want to dine on a not so fishy fish,, row row row your boat and bring a camping cooker.
Taihu Lake

What a pure lake! With rolling hills, lush forests. The Qiandao Lake’s delicacy is famous for the fresh fish. The lake rich in 85 kinds of fish, and wild animals in the great forest all are difficult to eat in the cities. The fish tasting hall on the town is the freshwater fish center of China.

Reminds me of the time I went to a rain forest nature reserve a few years ago. There were little stalls everywhere selling pickled wildlife, dried wildlife and even caged wildlife.

haha, yeah,, Orientals have a decidedly different idea about what constitutes 'preservation' when it comes to nature.

Lol dude. I grew up in industrial Scotland in the 70s. I knew what pollution was before I moved to China.
GUANXI....many lakes.and rivers. Reservoirs are very clean, except after I swim there..hehe
