If it’s foreign groceries you are after, Times Grocery has quite a few comforts from home including sodas, crackers, snacks, cheeses and meats among other things. Metro is a famous German bulk good store. There is a great selection here as the place is huge, you can find almost everything you need here.

There's another small shop on Hankou Xi Lu (汉口西路, between Nan Da and Nan Shi Da) called Exotic... something. It's on the right side, when you walk east toward the Mc Donalds on the corner. Has a yellow sign. Their special is liquors and the prices are really not bad. Sometimes cheaper than in Germany!

But the Times Grocery on Yunnan Lu 云南路 (extension of Shanghai Lu) is the best so far. Decent Locations and loads of stuff. Prices are higher than at home but if you need foreign stuff it's your own fault Wink.

I shop at Metro in Nanjing.  It has a very large imported selection mixed in with all of the other products.  Prices are very competitive but you will need to join and become a Metro Card holder (open to card holders only) but that's easy enough. Just bring your passport or your identity card.  Here are the details.

I shop at Metro. There are also imported goods in Suguo at Xuezuelu. And in Yadong, there's a store called "my shop". They sell imported goods also.

If u are willing to pay more, there are several imported goods stores at Xinjiekou.

BHG Supermarket @ Deji Plaza, they have Damarco frozen pizza, european, american, korean, japanese, southeast asian and a lot more imported products. For Curry Lovers, this is where to buy the sauce, spices, coconut milk etc.. The do have Italian seasoning, thyme leaves, oregano, kimchi, pasta, japanese soya sauce, malaysian and thai curry pastes.. They  do sell better quality beef products to be grilled.. For those who like to cook meals that taste like the ones back home, this is where to grab the ingredients.. They do sell imported wine and beers like Hoegarden, Rosemount Shiraz (AUS), Shinro, Ichiko, high grade whisky,  baileys, etc..

SG (So Good, not Su Guo) Supermarket across China Unicom inside the building that has Costa outside.. They sell Indonesian Mee Sedap with more of Taiwanese, korean and japanese products.

Golden Eagle Supermarket at 6th floor. They do have imported products too, even feta cheese, heinz tomato sauces, swiss miss, etc.. They do sell Erdinger and Hoegarden Beer down here..

As I wrote previously, Metro -- it's the big box name in Nanjing.

This is the IVY Foreign Food Store in Nanjing, a bit pricey but it carries many items not found elsewhere:

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
