Q: Where can I find horsemeat in Beijing?
In honor of the whole horsemeat scandal in Europe. I've heard horsemeat is a delicacy in parts of China, so I'm assuming I can find it somewhere in Beijing?
look for a convenient store and check if they have nestle products. 
Buy a train ticket to inner Mongolia, and go buy "beef"( that's what those cheaters say)!
Why aren't the bones in chicken big enough to spit out? I heard horse meat is sweeter than beef.
For something different try Yak, I think it tastes like yuck though.
I went into a local restaurant last night and asked for "ma rou". The waitress looked at me funny.
Horsemeat is a nice meat, I ate quite a bit of it in Germany, it has a more robust, dry, earthy taste that I enjoy. The outrage in Europe is because it was miss sold as beef to increase profits, not because of any sympathy with the plight of the horses.
Now, according to the saying 'if the sun shines on it or the water flows over it the Chinese will eat it', so there must be somewhere in Beijing that you can find it.

My students told me that in the Chinatown here in Sydney, the Chinese restaurants are selling possum.

I had it in Xinjiang, served as part of a Kazakh function (Kazakhs are one of the minorities found out that way).
If you can find a Kazakh restaurant, that might be the way to go.
I stayed for a few days in a small town near Shijiazhuang and there were many restaurants in the local area that served donkey. the locals said it was the king of meat and took me to what they considered the best of the donkey eateries. Paintings of donkeys adorned the bill boards of these resturants. I tried it cooked a number of different ways but it was a little strong for my tastes. Probably one of the least enjoyable dining experiences I have had in China.
You are gonna have to go to the country side. Haven't seen many horses in the streets. I did see some horses occasionally, but not recently. The horses they have here walking the streets look worn out and tired. . .
And the guy who owned the horse probably wouldn't give you any of his horse's meat anyways.....unless you pay him well! 100 kuai would suffice! No I'm kidding!
