Q: Where can I find magazines for expats in Shenzhen?

For all of you living in Shenzhen...

I live in Hangzhou and I cannot go to Shenzhen myself, however my company will be welcoming two British girls going to the Shenzhen area for a cultural exchange program. They will be coming to Hangzhou for an orientation and training camp and we usually include such kind of magazines in the Welcome Package we give them.

So now I am sending one of our Chinese colleagues to pick up a couple of copies for me. Unsurprisingly, when I asked her for this favor she replied: "Sorry, I don't know where to find them".

I am talking about publications such as "That's PRD" or even others I may not know about. Where can she pick them up? Here in Hangzhou it is usually at bars, cafes, hotels that expats usually go to.

Any suggestions? I need the exact names of places if possible...

I can't say for Shenzhen whether or not they have City Weekend or Time Out (maybe for Guangzhou?) but you can always have someone check any expat bar/pub/restaurant for you.

I didn't pay attention to such magazines, but the most likely place to find it would be the expat bars/restaurants in Shekou, Seaworld (metro stop has the same name) or in Futian, Coco Park (metro stop is called Shopping Park).

You can buy magazines in Bookcity. Its located in Futian right next to the Shenzhen library and musical hall. But its a bit expensive.
