Q: Where can I get books in english to read?
I like history. I was interested in reading Pearl S Buck , The Patriot about China 1937ish or maybe something else. I'm in Guilin
Hong Mei Lu - yanan elevated road intersection - shanghai - opposite the restaurant street there is one trade plaza.. First floor have a bookshop...(if u r in shanghai)
you want to buy them or just read it........ well i think www.taobao.com and serve the purpose, but if you are good with laptop and downloading you can to torrent and download certain books from there. the other main possible place is the city main book store, google it on the map i hope you can find it on that
You can check those street sellers. Not sure where your at but if your in BJ that sell english books. Also, there is the Xidan Bookstore which is one of the biggest bookstores here and they offere English books and Chinese books.
www.z.cn its the chinese amazon. you can find some there, and they deliver fast
You can find some English books in China, but mostly Shakespeare and Jane Austen. Books are highly censored here so the selection is limited. If you visit coffee houses that have lots of foreigner customers, they usually have a book swap of books that other foreigners have "smuggled" in. Your best bet is to buy an e-reader and just download them.
kerry center, there is a book store selling all kinds of books like novels, magazines, recipe, etc
