Q: Where can I get my cat microchipped in Xi'an?

Hi everyone,

I am hoping I can find some help here.  I want to take my Chinese cat to England.  She must be microchipped in China. I live in Xi'an, and have spent the entire morning trying to find a vet to chip her, but they all have the same response- "We only chip dogs".

Does anyone have any experience of taking their pet abroad?  Did anyone get their cat microchipped in China?  Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

'Real (Norwegian Forest Cat) cats don't do micro.....'

You could ask at UK Embassy in Beijing for 'where&how......'. They probably know all rules about importing animal from China to UK.

Eorthisio:

It serves as an electronic ID with medical informations about your pet in an international database for the vets. Not so different from medical records for humans.

Is a troll testing out different new accounts or something?

Englteachted:

If it is an actual requirement , then the embassy website should have a listing and you might have to go to Beijing to get it done.

It appears, I know 'cat stuff'angel. You could try yourself by hitting 'Contact us' on Embassy's website.

Thanks everyone, I found a website from an older question-

www.icvsasia.com

Also, checking with the embassy was good advice.
