i personally would not recommend getting any body piercings in China.
The level of hygiene would be questionable to say the least, not to mention random people watching the process as a spectator sport.
Even going to hospitals here makes me concerned about my health.

My girlfriend (Chinese) was thinking about getting her ears pierced in China. I told her that girls in the US would normally just get them pierced at whatever jewelry store they would buy the earrings from. Apparently it was suggested to her that, in China, you should go to the hospital to get your ears pierced.
