Q: Where can I see a giant salamander?
Would really like to see one of these in the wild. Or have they all been eaten?

You can find one of these giant salamanders in Japan....

Yes but I'm in China. And I read the largest giant Salamanders are the Chinese giant salamanders. Unless they're all gone. Good call though! A trip to Japan may be in order

I could only find reference to them being in Huangshan and Guangxi. They are endangered but still the Chinese eat them. Try ordering one in a restaurant.

I've read about them before, they seem quite docile and can make a variety of sounds, like barking or whining, sometimes sounding like a child crying, Chinese all it infant fish 娃娃鱼 / 鲵

I would have a hard time eating it, not because of its' appearance but because of the barking, whining and sounding like a crying infant....
Prior to 1968, this salamander was unknown, it is believed that China polluted water created it.

No! In China it'll have much more inventive name like "Big Giant Lizard That Eats People", or possibly "Bone Headed Wagon Lizard".
