Q: Where can one find a visa agent in Shanghai?

Hi guys, my friend is running out of his visa and he'd like to stay in china to work since he's found a job. The only problem is they need hi to start working ASAP and it might take a while for the company to process his working visa(he's currently on a student visa). I've heard of agents who help out with getting an extension or a tourist visa, but since  most of the people we know are also a students I have no idea where to look. I would really appreciate any suggestions since we're running out of options. Thank you.

If a company that he is going to work for is processing his work visa, they should have his passport. If not, they should help him.

They SHOULD help him but they simply said "sorry, we're gonna need more time so in the mean time get yourself an extension". it sucks but thats the situation.

your reply makes me wonder how legitimate the job offer is. Be VERY careful ! EDIT: given the crackdown on foreign workers having the correct visa, and the fact that you say the company want your friend to begin work asap, they SHOULD be trying to ensure this is done asap. Otherwise I would question the legitimacy of the company and their offer.

A quick google will find you visa agents in shanghai. I thought though you could go to the PSB and at least get a 1 month tourist visa quite easy on your own. After that though would be most a likely a trip to Hong Kong to process work visa or if they playing him another tourist or business visa.
