Bought Zero Dark Thirty over the weekend, expecting it to be a really bad version filmed in a cinema, but it was top quality. The only giveaway that it was a pirated copy was the fact that "For your consideration" would occasionally appear.Where do they get these DVDs from? Do they have sources in Hollywood or something?

They're called screeners. Pre-production copies of the movies sent out to various folks for review purposes. Sometimes these DVD screeners get "lost" or "misplaced". Then you can suddenly find copies for sale or on your favorite online source...

I accidentially voted this down instead of up.
What he wrote is correct. They are all over the internet, so my guess is they download them.
It's Oscars season. A few weeks before the Oscars, the studios press DVD's of their movies that are under consideration for various awards. They distribute these movies to the people who are voting to give their movies visibility. Invariably extra copies get leaked to the general public. Also test pressings and publicity copies of movies are in circulation all the time. Not hard at all to see how these could get on the internet and copied.
