I'd like to get to meet some lowai from home. Also I couild use guidance about where to go for what. I didn't meet many last summer.
You can always check out the Coffee shops particularly Starbucks or Costa Coffee. I've always seen foreigners there.
If you go to "walking street or "buxing jie" there are three places: Rosemary's Cafe ( good western food including lasagna), "The german bar" ( its name is Paulaner but we all call it that way) and "the irish bar" (again, not its name but what we call it). There are other places like Cats and Rabbits, and others but the top three were the ones mentioned above.Hope this helps!
I;ve been living in Guilin for one week now and it's sad to know I have already been to those places without much luck. I'll try Cats and Rabbits this week, looks a bit more upbeat.

I saw many and only met one expat. Search Guilin Expats. com site, I they meet some where, I don't know where and never went. I only met one expat on the walking streets. You can meet my Chinese friend Jerry, hangs near the Irish bar is a gallery, other side of road ,,or where the walking streets cross around the picnic benches.,He's always calling out 'hello, where you from'', he's tourist guide, very helpful nice guy. Do you want to meet a very nice girl or want dates?

Thanks Ted for your help, not looking to meet girls, just some other people to have a beer with. I found most of the expats would be at the U-Bar.
