GZ so boring James? I would have thought you'd be busy arranging visas & setting up companies for foreigners? (Assuming that's also you with exactly the same name on GZStuff?)

Use your wechat and sign up to the various news outlets. They have lots of info on whats going on.

The GZ stuff forum seems to be dead now, but lots of info there on old forum posts.

Myself?

This Saturday afternoon I am headed for Hooleys to meet a mate for beers and a search for a toy shop. Then we will have a most excellent meal.

If you are into running head up to the Gold Mango bar at Taojin (line 5, exit towards the Baiyun.Hotel, A). They have a thing called the hash run. They hire a bus to head to the country.

And if you are ever bored, just jump on any metro, get off at a random stop and wander around. Switch your map off, and just enjoy being lost.

Have fun.

When I'm in Guangzhou I usually go to the train station asap to get the hell out of the place and back to civilisation.

Yes that may be true. There are simply too many people in the city for my liking. You can take the boy from the country but yiu can't take the country from the boy.

The problem is not there being too many people, too many uncivilized people. The amount of people I saw who just would pull their pants down and take a crap in the middle of a bustling sidewalk is traumatizing.

If you're saying GZ is boring than you're not in GZ.

You can go to the Safari park wher you can walk as well,, I think you would like it,, or Chimelong Paradise for some fun. I've been there and loved it,

Maybe, you would need something like this: https://tripplannera.com/china-guangzhou-trip-planner

A:I had a similar experience in HK. If I recall correctly, before or at the Z visa application, I had to submit ME from the ordinary HK clinic, where I explained why I need ME and I asked them to examine only necessary things (I don't remember the cost ...), and then ... I got Z stamp and when back in China, I had to complete another RP ME, which was on the employer, i.e. included in the Contract ...We've never discussed refund of payment for HK ME with my employer. Year 2013 ...I'd say, that is a regular thingy embassies around the world require, before issuing visas for LT stay in the country. "Vladimir Vladimiro-Witch ras-Putin" (LOL@your pronunciation ..) demands the same thingy before granting LT stay in Ruski.  ... Haa, 2013 was the Snowden's year. I was in Kowloon at the time of his landing .. with all these files ... I'm-Still-in-LMAO-State ... Cost for the ME in HK was around HK$ 2000/200 EUR, and ME was kind of swift, quicker and way shorter than on the mainland ... -- icnif77
