Q: Where does all of Beijing's sewerage water go? Used as crop fertilizer?
A similar question, but similarily shrouded in mystery. I asked my Chinese friends where all the toilet water goes and he (half-jokingly) said it gets used as fertilizer in the countryside. This can't be true! What about all the disgusting toilet paper! And we eat those vegetables! Tell me it's not true. Yuck!

the water in some cities goes back to the toilet pipes that's why when a plumber connects your kitchen to the wrong pipe you get brown water
That would explain why the food in Beijing tastes like s*it... 
OK now to elaborate so the admin doesn't nuke my answer... Ummm.... Errr... Ahhhhh.... Yah.... So the water gets treated then used for irrigation I'm told.
