for the love of god..........someone tell me where to get a real steak.............not that piece of hamburger that they put on a plate and call it steak...and no one suggest that i should go back home for a steak......................a big country with i don't know how many people in and they don't know how to make a freakin steak..........no way not crossing half of the world for a steak
What about go and see city butcher, say: 'muuuuuuuuuu' or 'niu rou', pay for the nice steak, and make it yourself in your kitchen?
when you have steak in the fridge, post Q about 'how to ......' I'll reply promptly with recipe
Yeh, I never had a good steak till I came here. True. In England I always had 'em too well done. England's not famous for it's culinary cuisine. Here I got one medium rare because I made a mistake in ordering. Lucky mistake, yummy steak. Go figure.
1. go to the "wet market" and buy meat selected by Yourself
2. cut the steaks
3. fry them the way You like, preferably with the spices imported from "homecountry of real steaks" (You name it)
the question is similar to "Where to eat real CHinese dishes here?!!!" posted on some forum in Middle West, or even better South East, of US, wit the comment like:
"for the love of god..........someone tell me where to get a real Chinese dish (name any).............not that piece of (beeeeeeep) that they put on a plate "
and Yes... I wouldn't cry if Chinese can not make for me "schabowy z ziemniakami i kapustą", until all ingredients are available DIY is the best way for "real (name Your homeland)" dishes in foreign country
For once I agree (in part) with the OP.
I've been to the wet markets and I have yet to find anything in anyway resembling steak. Butchery seems to be hugely different out here and the meat I see on the counters appears to have had a long and natural life, with a nice gentle demise apparently of old age!
I once was invited to a newly opened steak house and was salivating at the thought, I got to the place and ordered the biggest steak they had 'blues rare' looks of confusion, so I said, "OK, I'll take it rare." only to be met with the reply that they were very sorry but to ensure quality of meat all their steaks were imported frozen and so for health reasons they all had to be well done! FFS a well done steak is like having boiled wine!
Sorry, end of rant!
In Guangzhou and Shenzhen (possibly other cities i am unaware of) Ole supermarket
