Q: Where to go to get pants altered?

I got a pair of pants I got from home and need the leg altered. Where can I send it for alteration (in Beijing) and how much would you normally pay for it? In Canada, it is CAD$10 which is about RMB 60.

Hong Kong has best tailors. They never charge me for anything.

Normally (at least in the city I live at), when I buy new pants and need the length of the legs altered, I take them to my local laundry place, and have them cut them to my length, then wash.

I pay for cutting it and washing it under 15 yuan, takes two days.

I found a shopping place in Beijing that does alterations. The price is cheap and you can get it done that day. I'm not sure if you've ever been to the shopping area in Beijing the last one you'd probably see if you were to take a taxi to the airport. You can get it done there they have a little shop so you just have to look for it, but it's there. cool

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
