Q: Where is a good place to find reliable, high quality Chinese staff to hire?

I am looking for a Chinese Sales and Marketing agent to work for my company.  The salary starts at 7k RMB monthly + commission.  Any idea where I could find the kind of high-quality staff I am looking for?

wouldn't trust any Chinese agent to supply sales staff - you would probably end up with people very like a regular poster here who claims to be a 'sales manager' yet seems to know next to nothing about understanding people or the proper meaning of common terms used in sales.

unless you have a person on your existing staff who knows how to conduct proper interviews, your best bet is maybe contacting your embassy.

I know mine has a section that will point me to a reliable network for doing just this, and not rely on a local agent that has not been proven to be trustworthy.

Local agents will by and large just scam you and send anyone, regardless of ability or experience, just to pocket the fee.

Better a foreign educated Chinese person than one who has never left China.

I can only advise you on what not to do, as it is a case of  caveat emptor for most things in China, and hiring staff is no exception.

All i can say is 'good luck'

Try GZstuff.com classifieds or a similar website in your city. Easier to find English speakers and recommendations.  I've found mine thru referrals or from similar companies.

for that salary you are only left with those who don't know what they are doing unfortunately.

I found that sales who knows what they are doing usually not working below 20000 + commission.

sad but true

...and those people are working 7 days a week, 12 hours a day no joke.
He/She might be able to reel one in if providing slightly less work hours and if they can afford that pay.

He wants Chinese employees, not foreigners.

All Chinese work long hours, but never put in a hard working hour.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
