Q: Where should I stay in Qingdao??

Hey guys,

I have a short business trip in a shandong farmer town, with a day and a half of freedom in Qingdao tacked onto the end.  Never been.  Yes I googled before I asked, so judging from restaurants and pubs addresses,am I right in assuming that  Shi Nan Disctrict is kind of the center of the city???   Where should I be staying??  Not looking to do much I guess, just check it out, and im not sure why, but I feel like I should eat German food there.....  But Ill probably not be able to find a place  and go to a paulaners instead.

Shi Nan district is the thing in Qing. All 5 star hotels in Shi Nan. You got everything there! Other thing, he mentioned is 'beach'. No specific website, but 'Travel advisor' carry some 'news' about Qing.

Have a good time! on Co. expense, you 'bas……'…LOL

Shinan district is where you want to be, Hong Kong Middle Road, probably.  Hotels such as Holiday Inn, Intercon, Westin...There are other options.  It's expensive here in the summer-dirt cheap in the winter.  Are you looking for recommendations?  Most of the "international," and I use that term loosely, restaurants are in that area along with the bars/pubs.

If you're looking for something to do, try this site.

Yeah, the online community here is very weak.  People read but don't often comment.  I don't know what you're looking for in a hotel, entertainment, bars, and so on, nor your price range, but if you want to pm me I'll try to help.

Whatever you do, don't visit Underwater World!  Waste of time and money.

mike695ca:

Haha thanks, i try to avoid all zoos in china as it is. If i see you more dad encouraging his kid to throw rocks at an animal , im gonna get arrested for murder.

I met beggar today in my city with small monkey on chain. I stopped, because I wanted to see animal closer.

L paw (some 10cm of the leg) cut off!

I was thinking, he couldn't manage the animal, and for easier 'beggar's life', he maimed it.

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
