Q: Which astrill servers' locations do you find to be the fastest for China?

I'm starting to feel that having over 100 options and not knowing which to choose could be more frustrating than just having a few. I was hoping someone here has some experience with the VPN and could help me narrow it down. Thanks

It changes often, so what is fast today my be slow next week. I have often found myself using the Sweden connection. Good luck.

I'd agree with Almost's reply. I tend to normally use the HK or Korean ones but they can get slow at times. Plus the search results on goog can be biased that way. If I'm wanting to read UK newspapers or things like BBCiPlayer then I'll use UK ones. Normal rule of thumb would be to use ones nearest to you but it doesn't always work this way.

I find the servers with the stars next to them to be faster because they also support p2p connections which speed up any form of video streaming or downloading across the vpn network. Of those with the stars next to them on the list the fastest one I have ever used any any particular time was the Los angeles- china one but I did find that one to be tricky to connect to sometimes. Hope this helps...

If you are using their OpenVPN service, you can run regular speed tests to find the fastest server. To do this, de-activate (turn off) your VPN, go to the 'help' tab and click 'speed test'. Then, tick the checkbox 'test ping only' and test servers. As a rule of thumb, the lower the ping, the faster the connection. I generally find UK visa Taiwan/US via Taiwan to be the fastest, but you may get different results. Good luck.

I use UK servers for youtube, LA servers for facebook. I usually go with one of these servers.
