Lishui is a small city, and always has blue skies. You don't specify where or what size, but Lishui in Zhejiang province is pretty clean. You won't find much online though.

I was pleased to see, in a country of zillions of cities, Chengdu at 19.

Until I realized Shanghai is 12 and Beijing is 29.

Is that a list of the biggest cities only?

Just the list of the provincial capitals only

Sanya, Hainan..not on the list?!? I think that's where you find the best air quality- plus plenty of sunshine and clear blue skies!

The figures are environmental rankings and while air quality plays a big part it would only be one of many factors used to determine those rankings.

That is a list of provincial capital cities, not all Chinese cities. There is almost no information available about places with clean air; perhaps, because we would all flock there Wink

Northeast city like Dalian or Bayuquan is comparatively clean cos they are both seaside cities, I have been there and lived there for sometime, the air feels clean and the wind feels soft....
