Find something that you enjoy reading. When I started learning Chinese writing, I used comic books and books that I now use to teach my 4 year olds. The main thing is to read something that will keep your interest. If you don't like what you are reading, you won't learn as much from it.

oh, so many.... thank you, could you please tell me which one is your favorite?
Maybe you'd be better off with something like The Hunger Games. If you liked the movie, then you'll enjoy the book, which by the way is pretty easy reading.
'Ham on Rye', the story of Charles Bukowski's early years before he became a famous writer, written of course by himself. He wrote for the common man so the language is not too challenging. It's also pretty funny. Also if you can get your hands on a book called 'Magical Thinking' by Augusten Burroughs, i'd recommend it. The language he uses is more challenging but it is a collection of short stories, all true, so there is not so much in any one story for the reader to digest. Very very funny indeed.
