Q: Which is the friendliest province in China?
Travelling to different provinces in China is always eye-opening in my opinion, not just because of the different landscape, food and dialects but also because of the contrasting attitudes of people. I have found the people of Yunnan and Sichuan to be way friendlier than people in the mega cities of Beijing and Shanghai for example. Which has been the friendliest province you've visited in China?
I can't really speak for anywhere else, i've lived in Guangxi for 7 years. The people here have always been very friendly and decent to me. Met my share of arseholes, but no more than would be reasonable to expect of any place. Yeh, they're good people here.
I concur with mArtiAn, the locals in the south do seem to be nicer than what I've 'heard' reported on this site about the bigger cities.
Then again a nation of Godzillas with toothache would be nicer than most of the reports I read on this site.
maybe it is not "province vs. province" but "big city vs. small city"
... and IMHO small city always win
I originally went to Guilin Guangxi and loved it, limited experience in staying long term other places, I hated Beijing, disappointed in Gz, but they were big new cities which I don't really care for. I was in HK twice but didn't know what to see, with GF so just more shopping. My favourite province,,, Thailand.
