For international travel and money-making, that is!!!
I just read the post on the Pakistani trying to get into HK, but is going to have difficulties. I know as an Aussie, I don't have this issue (nor do most of the rest of you reading this... just go there, and wham bam, here you go, enjoy your stay!)
I've been wanting to get into Europe, but I'm allowed only 90 days out of 6 months in the Schengen zone. Same as most other non-Europeans... (Fortunately, I'm allowed to get money (ie, work) in most of them )
However.... I've actually been thinking I could do with NZ citizenship, because their government got in early, and they enjoy the right to stay 90 days in EACH of the Schengen states in any 180 day period!
I know China can be more expensive for Americans to get a visa... and Chinese find it really difficult to get a visa to anywhere (unless you have connections).
Some of us carry a reputation, and so there are issues with that.
And, while the Brits did hold most of the world for a while, they became unpopular in various countries, so holding a British passport is no longer a safe bet for travel.
And, while the US will quite nicely allow me to go there without too much hassle, I still refuse to have them take my fingerprints (like would be required for a criminal).
so, general question involving everyone - which would be the best passport to hold??

Mate belive me you are on a winner with what you have.
I hold 2 passports 1 UK and 1 Australian.
I use the pommy one when I go the mother land because I dont need a visa to work
However I use my Aussie passport for everthing else because I get left alone.
I think its because they think anybody who wears thongs in the airport we are to dumb to do up our shoe lasses and not worth the bother.
A Canadian passport is golden. Not only are most countries visa free, but I get more respect from many people (as a opposed to being American, which I am routinely mistaken for). Sorry no offence to Americans out there...blame Bush.
But that being said I would kill for a British passport (I want to live in HK), but unfortunately for me my family has been in Canada for 300 years, so I can't get one (I need an immediate family member).

While you need to renew it every five years. Annoying! Why they cannot issue a 10 years passport?!
the dude is right canucks get the benefit of traveling everywhere same as the usa but w/o th political bs that gets attached to being an american .
but when it comes to pulling girls they all love americans above all
I'd sell my grandma for a EU passport. Plus, I guess for the teaching work I do, an English native speaker passport is also vital, so I guess the Brits and the Irish come up trumps overall.
A British one is hard too top, good for Europe working and benefits of all EU countries, good in Asia for teaching, plus free high quality healthcare and education at home, and easy entry rules for most countries
NZ?

So far I'm satisfied with the French nationality. Easy access to European countries, some countries outside the EU don't require a visa either, high quality free healthcare, and usually well-seen (romance, paris, baguette etc.).
Most of the EU countries have it best. Germany would be my primary pick. Great benefits, holiday's etc...
Being an American has some serious disadvantages to working abroad. First, if we earn too much, then our loving home country charges us tax on that money, even though we didn't earn it there. And if you happen to be from the wrong state (FU California), then they charge you state tax regardless of which country you live in, or how much you make.
And while, all the girls love to jump American bones, we do have a bad rep as travelers (though, not as bad as Brits & Chinese who frequently top the worst tourists lists).
All-in-all, I would rather have been a Scot.
Canada's pretty sweet. No hassles, visas for almost any nation, you can go to Cuba....etc
i have 3 nationalities including british thts enough for me i think i want to have chinese also but i dont know procedure bout tht i make some contacts hope get get a reply from some one
Shining_brow:
You have no idea, do you?
If, perchance, you DO become a Chinese citizen, you will LOSE all other citizenships...
I would say the Swiss. I cannot think of any country that hates them. Unless they yodel....
I tell everyone I'm from Nunavik, no problem, who hates eskimos?
The Great White North is a metaphor.
TedDBayer:
maybe, the Japs take more whales than eskimos. Population of Nunavuk 31000, of Nunivik 12000., most have never seen a whale.
Shining_brow:
You should pop onto Customerssuck.com. You'll find someone on there who hates that area!!! They may not have seen whales, but they know a hell of a lot about leopard-skin tights!
British passport is good. We can stay the longest in Honk Kong without a visa. Ive forgotten how long but much longer than any others. Plus we can get new visas and passports issued in Hong Kong..
Also, in which countries is it not safe for a brit? where are we so unpopular that its not safe?? thats a load of crap, anywhere brits are not safe the yanks have no chance.
