Q: Which news site would you suggest?

I do not use a VPN because I don't use social sites like Facebook and Twitter. I am news addict and can't read the daily mail from the UK anymore. Which other news websites would you suggest and keep in mind that I don't use a VPN?

I always get a good sampling around the world from the drudge report and its not blocked, some stories that link to the new york times will block, also some links will give only 2 stories a month then want some money, but drudge always cover right and left, pro war and anti war, got to give him credit for pissing everybody off equally.

Is Reddit still available in China? There are some pretty good news subs there if so and even if a story is linked to a banned website there will often be a TLDR summary or someone will have c&p'd it.

CBS News and Fox News can be read without VPN, and some CN English news website like China Daily, globaltimes.cn. BTW, Reddit is unable to be reached without VPN.

I read and watch fox,,,,   website might say foxinternational,,, or fxvideo/s ,,,,  something like that,, never paid attention.   works fine including 90% of links w/out VPN, but u do have to have good bandwidth to stream the video.  Most is free, but they do sometimes try to sell some premium 'subscriptions',, just ignore that part.

the links will usually get u to other viewpoints too, if fox is a bit too RIGHT for your tastes... Tongue

Stick with China Daily and you'll never miss the facts of every major story. They have my thanks and respect for keeping me well informed.

I check out China Daily, Shine (Shanghai Daily) and News24.com. That Global Times is a new favourite of mine. Daily Mail in the UK would have been nice to read but then again I was getting sick and tired or reading about The Royals and Brexit.
