Q: Which TEFL certificate do most schools want you to have?

There are many different online TEFL certificates available like 40 hour, 80 hour, 120 hour, does this even matter? I saw in some job postings that it needs to be 120 hours.

Even the most basic one will find you a job somewhere.  I think that if you've got the time and money you should consider a longer one.  Especially if you don't have any experience.  Despite all the jokes and jibes teaching ESL doesn't mean you have to merely sing and dance.  It is possible to use your ability to actually teach.  But to do that you'll have to find students willing and able to learn.

A: Chinese are generally pretty tolerant friendly and accepting whatever
A:Chinese are generally pretty tolerant friendly and accepting whatever foreigners do.  I spent 15 years in China but I wouldn't say there are that many don'ts....Don't assume that many people speak English though and learn some Chinese. Don't speak much about politics unless you want to praise Chinese system.  -- Natalie363
