There seems to be a ridiculous amount of music festivals and other shows going on in Beijing over the next few weeks. Which ones are actually worth going to? I heard Mos Def is playing at MIDI, but other than that, its a bunch of (Chinese?) bands I've never heard of. I'd rather not sit through 4 hours of Chinese emo rock-pop.
Any recommendations?

Lil Jon is coming to town this week or next week I think it was. That would be worth it if you like rap music. Also I heard the strawberry festival will be coming to town...

Sorry but I thought he mentioned MUSIC in the question. Not computers, DJ's and drum machines at work.
Are there any that actually feature quality musicians delivering a message with original music?
Most MUSIC these days involves a computer
That's a pretty snobbish statement there mate...I don't think
you know anything about electronic music whatsoever,
its not all what you hear on the radio or in a commercial club.
I've produced and released music for 10 years now, released
more than 20 vinyl records and played gigs in more than 20 countries...
and I'm not talking bullshit raves with thousands of teens on E
and music that sounds like boom sh boom sh boom sh boom sh,
I'm talking dark little holes in the wall with 100-200 people who
actually get the message...So do a bit of research on this kind of
thing before you post something like this...some of it would probably
blow your head off with originality.

Send me a few names who do similar and I'll check it out on youtube. From my point of view an amp hooked up to an instrument is about as electronic as you need to get but hey I'm all for a new musical experience so bring it on.
