My laptop uses an English copy of Windows XP (little slow, but the old thing won't die).

Work computer is a Chinese installed copy of Windows 7, but I've got the menus and everything changed over to English.  No real need to install an English version...

I find it hard to install any program on my PC here.  Usually it won't load at all or just won't start after installation. And yeah - I'm using Chinese Windows 7 and it's so slow, and all the time there are some mistakes.. hate it

my computer is running Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit edition. It was just as easy to install in China as it was back home. Of course all the installation media are the same as back home

Windows 7, English version. Before I left the UK (2 years ago) I invested in a top of the range designed to my spec laptop working on the theory IT goes out of date so fast if you want it to last you need the best, and so long as the error messages are in English I can usually sort them out.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit...installed back home.

I plan on buying a new laptop in HK next month but I'm a little sketchy about Windows 8 and being able to get the English/French/Spanish language pack...we'll see how it goes.

Windows 7 on my HP.

I bought a paperweight - I mean netbook here with Windows 7 or 8 in Chinese but it won't change to English. POS. I guess I must buy and load Windows 7 or 8 - I mean a real copy of Windows. This netbook will work with a real OS but dangit it cost 2,200 and I can't use it.

My well-earned advice is to buy laptops and such at home. Heck this model only costs $200 at home with an OS I can use, but here I'm in for $350 and I can't read anything to use it.

I'm hesitant to buy ANY software here.

I won't mention the brand because it's no fault of the computer brand, it's just the pirate  software the Chinese installed.

It is a good-looking machine. I wonder where I put it? It's around here somewhere.

Windows7 Ultimate.  From back home, legal one on an HP 17 inch laptop.  As per my GF, I am paranoid, but I do not, and also do not allow anyone, to download any programs into it.  My GF downloaded Baidu without my knowledge, and screwed up everything, since local programs are designed to take over and disconnect just about everything.  I showed her the results of her action, and uninstalled Baidu, and now everythiong works again.

I did upgraded the RAM memory, and hard disc locally, since I am storing a lot of data in it, but except for Yahoo, everything else works in a satisfactory way.

have one on Win7 just for iNternet banking... Windows sucks... updates all the time.. viruses errors etc etc etc

had tried win8 but its useless as well... home screen got just 20 apps or so in store vs 20million of mac

Mr_spoon:

Well, windows 8 just came out, so of course there aren't many apps.

But they clearly tried to copy Apple's "big buttons and APPS!" style.

On the other hand, you can play any game on Windows.

I bought my PC in China, but Windows 7 32-bit is in English, although some elements still remain in Chinese, and those fucking applications that automatically detect your PC's region keep setting themselves to Chinese.

So I installed windows 7 64-bit in English by myself.

I use an English copy of Windows 7. I have tried a Chinese version on a friends laptop but it takes me much longer to do most of the things, even if they are basically the same program
