Q: Who took a driving license test in China?

Can someone tell me how much is it for foreigners? Can we take a test in English? How many questions are there? Car and bike license are separately? How many times can we retake an exam? Thanks!

You get 5 chances, yes they have English, the test is sooooooo easy, in Shenzhen I paid Y600 back in 2010. But its not the test that worries me, what worries me is when you try to buy a car, like Shenzhen, I was so easy to buy a car in 2014, but now there are new laws limiting the number of cars that can be bought in 1 year, you will have to enter the lottery in some cities now and maybeeeeee you can get a car. Its not easy to buy a car anymore. So do your research before getting your license, if you have a car or a rich wife or husband from China already, than forget what I said.

In Guangzhou the test fee is 100 RMB and you can take the test twice in one day. If you fail both times then go back the next day and pay another 100 RMB.

Before that you need to get your passport and foreign driving licence translated and notarised. Then fill in the application form, take a simple medical and give them some photographs. In total, including one test fee, you're looking at about 500-600 RMB as Oronman510 mentioned above.

Can you take the test in English? In the major cities, yes. In smaller cities I don't know.

What's like there in GZ when it comes to buying a car?

Hotwater:

Don't know, bought mine in Zhongshan 5 years ago and was easy.

GZ now only issues 10,000 plates a month so had a lottery in place. Keep telling my wife to put our names in it.

I'm quite happy driving round with Zhongshan plates but it could become a problem if GZ follows Shenzhen's lead and bans out of town cars at rush hour.

A:I'll give my two cents on the age part. It's not as easy but can definitely be done. I was 21, fresh out of university and landed my first teaching job in china as a homeroom kindergarten teacher on a pretty standard 20,000/month salary. I'm 1 year in now and am still happy. Pretty much all international kindergarten jobs on here want 2 years experience, but many will still accept if you have experience in your home country. With that being said, being white and having a nice looking face is much more of a decision factor in china vs the west, if you can- use it to your advantage. Good luck finding something! -- brinsleym
