Q: Who went home for the holidays? What did you bring back?
I assume everyone who goes home will bring back some sort of food item that is impossible to get here. They'd probably buy some clothes that are more suitable to their style. How about some everyday things you find useful? I unpacked and realized that I bought 15 pairs of socks. Also, some Barbasol(shaving cream) and soap. How about you? What's something I should've grabbed.

also a wardrobe review will take place, and new clothes will be bought at home
I stopped in London (and St. Peter Port tomorrow) for some (mostly) clothes shopping. Real leather shoes, and anything '100% cotton'.
On food, I miss butter the most. When home, I'll just eat as much as I can, but won't load my luggage with the food, before my return to China. 'add..it': shopping for 'Goose down pillow' is a must!.

Urumqi Carefour doesn't carry anything Western. Last summer, I got some 1.5 kg of butter from HK, and some kilo of UK cheese. I travelled (back to my fridge) for almost 2 days with the train.
I got 'Russian goose down pillow' today for 80 GBP. In HK, they want to sell me Oz pillow last summer for HK$1400 (130 GBP). I'll travel with my pillow (again). hiihihih

I bought tins of baked beans in the supermarket in Urumqi. And some Irish vintage cheddar cheese. But like Icni says, no butter out here.
i had 2 lugguages when i returned home 1 with presents and 1 with clothes. after i came back to china i had 1 full of food.
real bread, potatoe dumplings, soups, tortellini, sauces, instant cooking things, candies and chocolate and a electric feet warmer

I didn't go home, but if I did, I'd definitely buy jeans. Chinese jeans are not to my liking.

I got jeans with 'plastic' pockets. Jeans are 'probably' 100% cotton, buTT....pockets are made of polyester. I should be quiet, considering price I paid....I spent 120 Rmb.

Other than that, the cut is just not right, plus I don't like skinny jeans.
Easy Marmite. That is so hard to get here because all foreign food shops are full of american products. I also tend to revive my wardrobe every time I go back. Clothes I buy here only last a month or two.
