In this society, where lots of products are indeed rubbish, thus worthless as soon as they have been used just a bit, "second hand" is a difficult concept. However, my wife sells everything instead of just dumping it on the street. E.g. in an apartment we are renting out, the furniture was starting to look very bad due to the humidity (or poor quality) some furniture was technically OK, but just not the correct style. Instead of dumping it all on the street, a guy paid to pick up all of it. In fact he was buying the good furniture, but part of the deal was to get rid of the rest. However, most of the bad furniture was carried down carefully, and I am sure it has been put to use somewhere.

I let my wife handle such things, and that is why I do not drink

You are not alone! I was thinking of listing a few things on Taobao. Way back when I paid one month of rent selling useless stuff on Ebay. Some things sold for a dollar but other items surprised me.

But you know here, from what I've seen, 'used' is a dirty word. Regardless, you only need one buyer.
