Q: Who is your country's 5th highest official?

I was just reading about that N.Korean band heading back home after the debacle about someone's nose being put out of place, and that the country's 5th highest official was going to attend the concerts...

And I thought - you actually have such a line of succession that you even know who is 5th in line... and obviously, those further down the line....

Presumably, this is because it's a fairly military-style dictatorship here, and such things come of ranks.

Do we have such clear delineations in our countries???

Not so sure about the government, but the British royal family has a very clear and well defined line of succession.  My geography teacher at school was 63rd in line for throne..... apparently.

No we don't have 5, because in small countries (angel), we can only have 4 tops.

Memorising names isn't thing, I'm good at. I can memorise faces well, thou!

But a VP can be very powerful and in the public eye, like Dick the Man from Hell, or very very laid back and just go to funerals, like Biden. It isn't as simple as that in the US.

The PM is the leader of the party but he's the first amongst equals.  In the event he goes swimming and doesn't come back a new leader is elected by the party.  Or, in the case of the Labor Party, the unions.

When the PM is out of the country, or on holiday, or crook, the Deputy PM assumes leadership temporarily.

A: Chinese are generally pretty tolerant friendly and accepting whatever
A:Chinese are generally pretty tolerant friendly and accepting whatever foreigners do.  I spent 15 years in China but I wouldn't say there are that many don'ts....Don't assume that many people speak English though and learn some Chinese. Don't speak much about politics unless you want to praise Chinese system.  -- Natalie363
