they call them foul names out loud in public, it has to do with looking like a weak 10 year old so the men feel manly around them. women are not supposed to look stronger than the puny men

Sometimes their mothers get on their back about looking fat. I was told their mothers worry they won't to be able to get married if they are fat! Actually the larger students I have laugh about it and don't get upset at all.

All of my fat students laugh when the other children call them fat also. They're prolly hurting on the inside, though. Girls hate being fat in America and America's about as fat as it gets. I'm sure the girls here hate it just as much if not more. I like seeing fat Chinese girls, though. They're the only Chinese women (or people for that matter) bigger than me and other normal sized women. And when I'm around them Chinese people stare at them rather than me.

Chinese girls are loves there body. Even some of my friends told that girls after marriage with her husband they take nude photos to store their beauty forever.

Its just the norm here and yes they worry about attracting a man with money and they think that will do it. My boyfriend is chinese and i am canadian. I am average size in canada with a little muscle and much bigger breasts than any chinese and most canadian girls. My boyfriend once told me that when he was growing up he thought he was supposed to like thin girls because that's what everyone was saying and acting like. He said he always thought maybe it wasn't exactly the perfect way to look (not that there is a perfect way, just an opinion) but after we started dating he said he realized that he was right and that girls definately aren't attractive just because thin. I think he is very open minded though as he actually cares about personality and that doesn't seem to be ranking high on most chinese men's lists

Without a question, they believe being thin is healthy and beautiful. Just look at a billboard, magazine cover, poster, fashion show, auto show, etc.

I wouldn't say they are obsessed with being thin at all. All the chinese girls I know eat regularly and don't diet unlike some of the girls in the states who don't need to. As far as being fat it's kind of uncommon to see a fat chinese girl in China but if you do it's rare. I don't think they get picked on or anything not even in school. Here they are more disciplined than if you were in the states where as if you were fat and didn't play sports you could be laughed at. 

Because, that is how they catch husbands! When he approaches for a closer look, he steps into her net and then, WHAMMO! After that,  it is wedding bells and hong baos for him...

fat to them reads lazy,greedy,glutton non of which are attractive traits.though i see fat chinese alot these days but they shape out funny when they fatten,only thr upper bodies seem to widen or get biggest.so if i were shaped like that i would prefer to stay small but in the end its all about self love,confidence and personality.
btw only time i saw a fat chinese girl on an ad poster,it was for icecream!

My Chinese friends tell me I am not fat but oversize...
All my foreign friends tell me I have good figure and not fat at all...
For me, moved to Guangzhou, just find myself much bigger than most girls here.
My mom is a little worried about my weight, but only that she wants me stay thin and be healthy.
For me, I am ok with my body as long as I am healthy this way, but I do believe, thiner is better than fat...

A question to look at, but to thin also means lazy, unhealthy and non working abilities.

When I hire women for positions as legal assistants or for my company I have noticed the thinner they are the lazier and more sick days.

I choose one with a little meat on their bones and they work hard and take little sick days
