Q: Why are Chinese so rude to low earners?

Anyone noticed this? Security guards, fuwuyuan and the like have to eat a lot of crap from people. Why the lack of respect? Just cause they don't make much money?

you right, do you know a chinese tranditioanl idiom "笑贫不笑娼" , that mean people laught aloud at the begger more than the prostitutes .
in modern china socity, money represent everything. if you are richer, you get power, respect and woman/man, if you are poorer that mean you are loser, no one will show some mercy for you, .even included the goverment charity departments.

The word rude is based on your understanding of how you were taught to treat others. In China many things that I think as rude, I try to remeber that my social training was different and it is not considered as rude to most Chinese. You must be strong and forceful in dealing with people in a public setting and it is not being rude...

A: "... through ..."?  Only "through" comes to mind is "Shenzhen agent can connect you with an employer, who's authorized to hire waigouren ... and can sponsor Z visa." It's not like every 10th person you meet in Shenzhen's hood can sponsor work visa ...  The only way to change from student to labourer visa is just a regular way by: 1. Finding an employer, who'll apply for an Invitation letter; 2. Exit China and apply for Z visa in your home country's Chinese embassy; 3. Enter China in 30-days after Z visa was stamped into your travelling instrument ...As I am aware, you won't be able to switch to Working permit by remaining in China....,so make ready for a return to your home .... -- icnif77
