Q: Why are Chinese toys so Bloody Noisy?
Yesterday a friend arrived from China with bountiful gifts for the kids
However not one of them is quieter than 95 disables
I have try putting tape over the speakers and that helps a bit
Between my wife and her friend and the kids and toys it would
be quieter living in a construction site

Do you find Chinese toys bought in China louder ones bought in your home country?
and what do you do to quieten them? (with out breaking them)
I am not sure about toys but quality of sound does grate me at times. Sound systems in shopping centers are often too loud and become distorted. The same is true for those vans that roam through the streets advertising this thing or the other with their loud yet poor quality sound. Even in some stores I notice shop owners appearing quite content to listen to their radio stations which are tuned neither here nor there.
The only toys I saw just made a buzz. Take the batteries out or drown them, never to work again.
A lot of the toys we buy our kids have switches that thankfully turn off the sound. The ones that don't often wind up missing batteries or just go missing. No one is really quite sure how it happens.
The one thing I had to outlaw in my home was shoes that make noises as you walk. My boys loved those when they were young and I had to toss several pairs out the window before the mother in law figured out that I was serious.

Ah those shoes. The kid next door used them for a while. We generally cannot hear noise from the other apartments, but those shoes went straight through the concrete. I can see them as useful in some cases, e.g. like being in a quiet park, if such a place existed, so you could hear your kid running away.

My dog has about a dozen toys that squeak, she's cute sitting around making noise. When I have company the dog will often get a toy and run around squeaking, she's showing off. She will eventually tear the squeaker off or out of the toy.She's very good at taking things apart. She got hold of my $200 electric shaver. It took me 2 weeks to get it back together.
even if you pass any kindergarden here in the morning, you can listen the terible bad and loud reproduction of children songs. It is really not good for small ears the amount of decibels. sometimes we got some toys as a gift, like a mobile phone. even if close to my ear, i can not stand the voice, its fakin loudly and terrible. what about children ? no one care their health here in every stage ?
simple take out battries. if it is total crap, than its going to garbage directly after they leave.
I do not have children yet. The rule for giving my future children presents is simple. If it is in the category, noisy plastic junk I will put it straight in the dumbster. I don't see a problem in setting rules for what people bring into your home and give to your kids.
If you ignore the noise for a moment, how is the contents of phthalates in those toys ?
Dip them in the water for short time. Anything powered by batteries or electricity in general will stop working if in water, without visible damage to gift
.
If you want a solution to this problem go to toys.com. The toys they sell at Toys R us here aren't that bad. Just replace that noisy toy with a toy dinosaur the one's that don't make any noise like the extinct dinosaurs of the past! 
I think in the process of making it cheap and more cheaper they use to compromise on sound system
