Q: Why are we often " not authorized"?
This website is symptomatic of what is wrong with China the people who run it don't seem to give a shit about it.
The answers section is being harmonized.
I have seen threads disappear here, comments on the website articles as well.
Strangely enough the "harmonized" threads or comments are not the most offensive toward China or its government.
Xi Jinping's China is becoming a one man rule, I already regret Hu's era, kiss goodbye to the separation of powers between different organs of the Party as decided by Deng, Xi wants it all for himself, he is the most influent/powerful leader since Deng, maybe since Mao.

Jiang and Hu were appointed by Deng, they were nothing but puppets expected to pursue Deng's policies of opening and economic reforms. Xi wasn't appointed by anyone, he came to power as a replacement after the corruption scandal that kicked Bo Xilai out of the game, normally Bo was due to become the next leader following Hu. If things would have gone as planned Xi might have become Bo's premier or maybe the president of the Party but not that of China.
There are two major rival factions among the CCP, in English they are described as elitists and populists, they disagree on topic such as how to run the country, how to distribute the powers. the army, the economy, China's foreign policy, ...
Jiang and Hu are populists, they come from peasant backgrounds, they broke their teeth in the Youth Communist League and made their own way to the top.
Xi Jinping is an elitist, he is the son of Xi Zhongxun a communist revolutionary and high ranking official, he didn't make his way through the party, he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and inherited his father's position and network of guanxi.
After two Populist presidents most of the high ranking positions among the Party were occupied by Populists. Xi is obviously trying to replace them with his faction members hence the corruption scandals.
But Xi is also trying to accumulate power for himself, he disagrees with the idea that powers (political, army, economic) should be separated between different organs of the Party and thus different people, idea brought by Deng following the madness of all powerful Mao during the Cultural Revolution. Xi (and his faction) thinks that the president (himself) should have absolute power to rule the country, just like under Mao. This is why I think China is becoming (or more like "heading back to") a one man rule.
I asked the same question yesterday, but my question has been harmonized (dissappeared). Presumably because I asked whether it was the cat's fault or was it another aspect of uncle Xi's overall crackdown. I think we can assume the correct answer.

yeah, my gripe is with old posts of mine disappearing, under the title "not authorised". but the question title won't show up on searches, so it just means the whole thread is gone for now. hopefully not into oblivion.
these state secrets will be released well after their content could be deemed sensitive to national security. 50 years is the running USA average, or until there is a regime robust enough to handle criticism.
Vanity is a strange thing.
The more powerful someone gets, the more fearful they seem to be about hearing unpleasant realities (or ignoring them): Maybe all the bad things will stop because no-one can talk about them.
Stifling debate because of 'hurt feelings' is so Elementary school.
By 'harmonising' threads and the internet in general, a leader can open themselves up to even more ridicule by not being adult enough to accept differing perspectives and thus maybe even new ways of dealing with important problems.
Countries progress at a faster rate if analysis and debate is robust and open, whereas in more hard-line/extreme regimes, pent-up frustrations or dissatisfactions have a terrible habit of resulting in a lot of people getting hurt for real.
